Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 3

Speedy Exceed and Excel filly September Run again showed her liking for the Flemington straight when charging home to score a dominant win in the Listed VRC Poseidon Stakes (1100m) on Saturday.

The Chris Waller trained filly was a stakes-winner in Brisbane during the Winter Carnival and was sent south following a first up fifth in the Group II ATC Silver Shadow Stakes winning a Listed race at Flemington on September 12.

Facing similar opposition here, she delivered the same result, finishing over the top of them for Craig Williams and running clear for an easy win going very close to the track record clocking 1:02.24 seconds.

A $380,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Hermitage Thoroughbreds from the Blue Gum Farm draft, September Run has four wins from seven starts with prizemoney just in excess of $280,000.

A crack at the Group I VRC Coolmore Stud Stakes against the colts might not be out of the question!

Bred by Alpara Lodge, September Run is the first foal of Group III winning Street Cry (IRE) mare Pittsburgh Flyer, a daughter of South African Group II winner  and Champion 2YO Filly Warning Zone (SAF).

Pittsburgh Flyer was on-sold at the 2018 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale where she was purchased for $500,000 by Go Bloodstock/ Paul Moroney Bloodstock and has foaled this spring producing a filly by Merchant Navy.
