Special interest on the two year-old race with three first season sires represented in Capitalist, Mikki Isle (Jpn) and Frosted (USA).

Frosted has already sired six winners in the US from his first crop there and Mikki Isle has had four winners in Japan headed by Group III winner Meikei Yell.

Race favourite is General Beau, a homebred for Contact Racing by Brazen Beau from Phosphoresence, a half-sister by Lonhro to stakes-placed juvenile Double Jeopardy from Group III winning juvenile Nediym’s Glow.

Grahame Begg won this race last year with talented filly Mildred and will pin his hopes this time on Pride of Dubai filly Cheer Squad, whose dam Demand Applause is from a half-sister to Golden Slipper winner Merlene.

Cheer Squad as a yearling

The family is top class having also produced another Golden Slipper winner in Capitalist as well as Group I winners Dear Demi and Miss Pennymoney, so Cheer Squad well worth watching!

Stay tuned for all the action from 1pm.
