One to Watch - Wangaratta

Tara Madgwick - Monday September 7

Champion sire Redoute’s Choice had a promising debut winner on Monday at Wangaratta and while this Thousand Guineas nominated filly might be running out of time to get to that goal, she does have plenty of ability.

Selfless wins at Wangaratta - image David Thorpe - Racing Photos

Prepared by Mick Price and Mick Kent Jr, Selfless was sent out favourite for the 1300m maiden and surged to the line, albeit greenly to win by half a length eased down.

Selfless was a $320,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Arrowfield draft for Sheamus Mills Bloodstock and is the second winner from Group III winning Hussonet (USA) mare Angel of Mercy, who comes from the family of four time Group I winner Divine Madonna.

Arrowfield sold a Snitzel colt from Angel of Mercy for $150,000 at Magic Millions this year and she is due to foal to The Autumn Sun.
