Glamour Colts Trial at Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 31

The Rosehill trials on Monday morning included a heat featuring high profile colts Ole Kirk and Prague, who was sporting the colours of his new owner Kia Ora Stud.

Trained by Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Prague was a two time Group III winner last season for his previous owners Aquis and Phoenix, closing out his juvenile career with a second in the Group I ATC Sires Produce Stakes.

Prague will be running for Kia Ora Stud going forward.

Prague was having his third trial in the 896m heat and scored a half length win under James McDonald with Ole Kirk a very quiet third for Tommy Berry.

Ole Kirk has already had one run back finishing second to Anders in the Listed Rosebud on August 8, when giving that colt 5kg on a heavy track.

It will be interesting to see what happens when these guys step out next taking on the likes of Anders, North Pacific, Peltzer and Mamaragan as well as last season’s Group I colts Farnan and King’s Legacy with the Sydney three year-old sprinters division looking to be particularly strong this year.
