In Good Health Leaves Punters with a Headache in Heatherlie Stakes

While she had been racing consistently, In Good Health looked anything but a future stakes winner when battling around country NSW for the large part of her career but the 5yo daughter of Congrats (USA) has found a new lease of life since joining Peter Moody.

At the third start for her new stable, In Good Health found plenty under Luke Nolen to hold the challenge of the favourite Sircconi (Nicconi) by a short-head in Saturday’s Listed Neds Heatherlie Stakes (1700m) at Caulfield.

“This is very special because the Ramsey family have been one of my biggest supporters, they have been there from day one. They are special people as are the Frith family out in my country in Roma, Queensland,” Moody said.

“We thought she would improve off the midweek the other day but this was a big step.

“Stu put a bit of pressure on me saying he had a stallion lined up if I don’t keep her performing  

“She progressive, wants a mile and a quarter or even a mile and a half so she may be nominated for the cups.”

With her first stakes success, In Good Health advances her record to 6 wins, 2 seconds and 6 thirds from 25 starts with earnings of $236,305.

A Ramsey Pastoral homebred, In Good Health is a half-sister to the stakes-placed sepoy filly Garrard out of the unraced More Than Ready (USA) mare Fitness a daughter of the stakes-placed Danehill mare Dane Tryst.

Fitness has a 2yo filly by American Pharoah (USA) and was covered by Headwater last year having missed in 2018.

In Good Health becomes the 40th stakes-winner for four season Vinery shuttler Congrats (USA).
