2020 SUN STUD STALLION PARADE GOES VIRTUAL TODAY!

Media Release - Thursday August 27

The Sun Stud Open Day & Stallion Parade has long been a feature on the Victorian bloodstock calendar … an opportunity to view the state’s premier stallion lineup, catch up with friends and enjoy plenty of refreshments.

However, due to the pandemic, Sun Stud will now stage its 8-strong stallion parade virtually – today at 4.00-4.30pm, with an encore from 7.30-8.00pm. To view the parade online, you can visit the Sun Stud Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/sunstudHQ or click on the image below.

“Sun Stud has been conducting its open days and stallion parades in the last week of August since the late 90s,” Sun Stud’s Sales & Nominations Manager, Phil Marshall, points out. “We would have had 400 people on farm last year – one of our biggest turnouts – but I think you’ll find, under the circumstances, we’re  providing you with the next best thing.

“Creative Infinity has done a marvelous job of filming all the stallions, from just about every conceivable angle, and I can guarantee that you’ll get up closer and more personal than you would if you were standing 5 metres away!

“And, on the bright side, Romsey can get pretty cold on the last Friday in August – as many open day ‘veterans’ would testify – so watching from the comfort of your home does have some advantages.”

With commentary from Phil and other members of the sales team – Adam Henry and Ash Richards – the virtual stallion parade covers each of Sun Stud’s eight stallions: Bel Esprit, Fiorente, Magnus, National Defense, Palentino, Ready For Victory, Squamosa and Thronum.

Fiorente is in hot form leading into spring.

“Fiorente is absolutely flying at the moment, with Bel Esprit and Magnus continuing to be just such prolific sources. Squamosa continues to punch above his weight and Ready For Victory has some exciting spring contenders, while we’re naturally excited about the first foals of National Defense too. Palentino has his first crop in leading stables and Thronum has his initial yearlings heading to sales in 2021. A very exciting lineup.”

For any questions relating to the breeding season, please phone Phil Marshall on 0407 853 782, Adam Henry on 0428 036 472 or Ash Richards on 0416 334 338.
