3YO Fastnet Rock Colt Tops Inglis Digital August Online

Media Release - Wednesday August 26

A regally bred son of Fastnet Rock has topped the August (Late) Online Sale, with Inglis Digital recording a 21st consecutive seven-figure gross with $1.87 million and 76% clearance.

3YO colt Lambardi - the first foal for Stakes winner Ballet Suite (High Chaparral) - was offered by Coolmore Stud and purchased for $100,000 by Wollongong-based owner Tory Lavalle.

Fastnet Rock colt Lambardi topped the August (late) Inglis Digital Sale when fetching $100,000.

Lambardi is the 66th horse to sell for $100,000 or more since 2018 and marks Lavalle’s fifth purchase this year from Inglis Digital.

“We’re just trying to improve our stable of horses in Kembla Grange with trainer Brett Lazzarini, we have honed in on the tried horses this year as we have also purchased six yearlings recently but obviously it’s a longer wait for them to hit the track in comparison,” Lavalle said.

“We thought Lambardi has potential, he’s unraced but has had a few trials and he’s a $1.1 million yearling so he’s a great looking horse.

“We did our homework and got him vet checked, so the plan is to geld him, which was recommended by the vendor, and see how he progresses from there.

“We’ve focused on the tried horses to help build the stable. We’ve got about 16 now and really the aim is to snag a race here and there to pay the bills and have some fun in the process.”

Lavalle is a relative newcomer to the industry, becoming more entrenched in racehorse ownership following the passing of his brother Nick – who had raced horses for more than 30 years.
