Another Smart So You Think for Ryan

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday August 26

Gerald Ryan has a pretty handy So You Think in his stable in undefeated colt Peltzer and he also has another progressive three year-old by the same sire in Game Theory, who broke his maiden on the Kensington track at Randwick on Wednesday.

A homebred for Bennelong Bloodstock, Game Theory was second on debut at Warwick Farm two weeks ago and took good improvement from that run.

He found the line strongly for Robbie Dolan to edge out Redoute’s Choice colt Cadenabbia and win the 1300m maiden by a long head.

He’s a nice horse that will get better over ground, I think he should get 2000m or more,” said Gerald Ryan, who is now training in partnership with Sterling Alexiou.

“He’s been a work in progress, but is starting to come into his own now.

“I’ll talk to his owners Bennelong Bloodstock about where we go from here, but for a horse like him he might be better off in work than in the paddock at this time of year.”

Game Theory is the first foal from Lofiel, who was also bred by Bennelong Bloodstock.

A metropolitan winning daughter of Northern Meteor, Lofiel is from a three-quarter sister to four time Group I winning Cox Plate heroine Dane Ripper and her grand-dam is Group I winner Red Express.

Lofiel has a two year-old colt by All Too Hard and a yearling filly by Shalaa (IRE).

So You Think

Game Theory is the 17th winner of the new season for So You Think, who stands at Coolmore at a fee of $38,500.
