Racenet have reported the sudden and tragic loss of 2015 Champion 3YO Filly Delicacy after suffering an allergic reaction to penicillin.

The dual Group I winner was in foal to Pierro and due to produce her third foal when she passed away on Wednesday in the Hunter Valley.

A homebred for WA owner breeder Bob Peters, Delicacy enjoyed a remarkable career on the track, including a stunning run of six straight victories in 2015 which culminated with a Group I double in the Schweppes Oaks and SA Derby seven days apart.

Those wins followed on from her memorable victories in the WA Oaks and Derby.

ghter of Al Maher boasted a remarkable record of 12 victories and five placings from 19 starts with earnings topping $2.1million in prizemoney.

The first two foals from Delicacy are both by Pierro, a two year-old filly called Very Likely and a yearling colt called More Likely.
