No Stud Career Yet for Bivouac

Tara Madgwick - Monday August 17

There was a rush of three year-old colt sprinters retired to stud at the end of last season, but one that did not head to the breeding barn was Bivouac and he trialled at Hawkesbury on Monday.

The Godolphin trained son of Exceed and Excel won the Group I ATC Golden Rose and VRC Newmarket Handicap last season earning over $2.2million in prizemoney, but Godolphin have elected to race him on.

Hugh Bowman had a tight hold of Bivouac as the classy four-year-old comfortably took care of his rivals in his 800m trial.

Godolphin are yet to make a decision on which horse will fill their Everest slot, but Bivouac would be the clear frontrunner for the breeding powerhouse.

Bivouac is a potential star for Godolphin this season

Bivouac is from an iconic Godolphin family that has already given them Group I winners Guelph and Sepoy.

His dam Dazzler is due to foal to his sire Exceed and Excel again this spring and has a yearling  colt by Lonhro and a two year-old filly by Medaglia D’Oro (USA) called Glittery.
