Another Star Invincible Filly

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday August 12

With three runners in the opening race at Warwick Farm on Wednesday carrying Star Thoroughbreds colours there was a lot of purple and white action coming to the home turn, but at the winning post it was race fit I Am Invincible filly Joviality taking the prize.

Prepared by Chris Waller as are her Star owned stablemates Rousseau and Grenado, Joviality did a few things wrong at her first two runs back from a spell finishing third on each occasion, but this time made no mistakes.

From barrier one, she jumped straight to the front and made light of the heavy conditions under Tommy Berry to coast home and win the 1300m maiden by more than three lengths.

“We thought she might have been up there with our better two year-olds, but time was against her and now she’s starting to mature into herself and did everything right today,” said Chris Waller.

A $330,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Star Thoroughbreds / Randwick Bloodstock  from the Fairhill Farm draft, Joviality was bred by Reg Kemister and is the third winner from four to race from Fastnet Rock mare Limbo Down who comes from the family of Group III winner Handsome Ransom and stakes-winner Danajaya.

Joviality was a $330,000 Inglis Classic yearling purchase

The same purchasers signed for her full sister at Inglis Classic this year for $350,000 and she has been named Affability.

Star Thoroughbreds have had plenty of success with I Am Invincible fillies, notably with Fiesta, who was the Darley Princess Series winner in 2018 and Group I winner Invincibella, who was sold recently at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale for $1.3million.
