Vancouver Equal Second on US First Crop Sire List

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday August 12

Australian bred Golden Slipper winner Vancouver is making his mark with his first crop in North America posting his fourth winner on Monday at Colonial Downs.

Prepared by Brittany Russell, Adelaide Miss surged to the line late to claim a half length win in the five furlong maiden on turf.

Her success puts Vancouver equal second on the leading First Crop Sire List by winners in North America with only one stallion siring more winners than the champion son of Medaglia D’Oro.

Bred by China Horse Club and sold as a weanling, Adelaide Miss is the first winner for Miss Judged, a winning half-sister by E Dubai to stakes-winners Lemon Chiffon and Masked Maiden.

Vancouver shuttled to Coolmore’s Kentucky base Ashford Stud for two seasons covering 166 mares the first year in 2017 and then 82 the following year.

His oldest Australian progeny have just turned three and include five stakes performers headed by his South African trained Group II winner Mount Pleasant.

Vancouver stands at Coolmore at a fee of $30,250 this spring.
