Trial Watch – Randwick

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 11

The Randwick trials this morning were held on the polytrack and marked the spring return of dual Group I winning colt King's Legacy, as well as the first appearance of the full brother to Champion 3YO and now leading young sire Brazen Beau.

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained King’s Legacy came into himself during the autumn to win the Group I ATC Sires Produce and Champagne Stakes.

The blue-blooded son of Redoute’s Choice had a very quiet trial under James McDonald, hitting the line full of running in fourth place under a hold..

King

9;s Legacy is set to have two trials before making his racing return in the Group II Run To The Rose (1200m) on September 12, before running in the Group I Golden Rose (1400m) two weeks later.

King’s Legacy still runs in the Hames Harron Bloodstock colours, but has Coolmore in the ownership with their Hunter Valley farm set to be his final destination when the racing side of his career is done.

An interesting winner popped up later in the morning when Les Bridge took the wraps off I Am Invincible colt Legend I Am, the full brother to dual Group I winner Brazen Beau.

He jumped smartly to lead for Kerrin McEvoy and was always well held together in winning by just over a length, running the quickest last 600m for all the heats over 1080m.

Legend I Am as a yearling

Legend I Am was a $460,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Carmel Size Racing on behalf of Bon Ho.
