New Winner for Shalaa

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 4

Arrowfield Stud shuttler Shalaa (IRE) was making news this week when siring the top lot at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale and featured overnight with a new winner in Cream of the Crop.

Read about Shalaa’s sale ring success here.

Trained by Michael Bell, she scored by a neck over 5f at Catterick at her second start.

Cream of the Crop becomes the fourth winner from 24 starters for Shalaa, who is also the sire of Saeiqa, a place-getter from the Group II Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Cream of the Crop is the first winner from stakes-placed I’m So Glad, a half-sister by Danehill stallion Clodovil to Group III winner Souvenir Delondres.

With his first two year-olds to race here this season, Invincible Spirit’s dual Group I winner Shalaa stands at Arrowfield this spring at a fee of $33,000.
