The Hong Kong-based champion started his season with five straight wins at Sha Tin on Sunday but will be at Moonee Valley to ride on September 29 and appear at a Racing Victoria owners' function on that evening.

Moreira last rode in Melbourne in March at Flemington but has recorded Group I wins in Melbourne aboard Brazen Beau in the Coolmore Stud Stakes and Newmarket Handicap (1200m) in the 2014/15 season.

"I haven't ridden in a night race at The Valley before, so I'm excited about coming over for Moir Stakes Night and I'm sure it will be a great atmosphere," Moreira said in a statement.

"I always love coming to Australia, the people are very friendly and they love horse racing, so hopefully I can ride some winners and make the fans happy."
