One to Watch - Ballarat

Tara Madgwick - Thursday July 30

Yulong were the biggest buyer at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale this week signing for 15 mares for a grand total of $9.9million, but it was a mare they bought at the same sale in 2017 for $1.75 million that gave them an impressive winner at Ballarat on Thursday.

Two year-old Written Tycoon filly Future Force is the first foal of Group II winning Commands mare Gregers, who was carrying the filly when she was sold at the Gold Coast.

Having her third race start today on the synthetic track over 1200m, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly improved on a fifth and third in those previous outings to bolt away and win by nearly four lengths as a short priced favourite.

Three times Group I placed Gregers is a full sister to Group III winner Girl Guide and comes from the family of Group I winners Ofcourseican and Gimmethegreenlight.

The Magic Millions Broodmare sale-topper in 2017 when selling for $1.75 million, Gregers has a yearling colt by Written Tycoon, a weanling filly by Snitzel and is due to foal to Lonhro.
