Merchant Navy vs Russian Revolution

Tara Madgwick - Monday July 6

The 2020 Inglis Australian Weanling Sale this week at Riverside Stables will mark the first sale ring appearance of the progeny of two very high profile first season sires in Merchant Navy (Coolmore) and Russian Revolution (Newgate Farm).

Both are dual Group I winning speed sons of champion sires, Merchant Navy being by Fastnet Rock and Russian Revolution by Snitzel.

Both have stood for the same service fees, $55,000 for their first two seasons and then back to $44,000 this year.

Russian Revolution has covered 449 mares in his first two seasons and Merchant Navy 402, so both have big numbers to push their case if the resulting foals are blessed with the talent of their sires.
