Frankel Filly Makes the Early Running at Easter Round 2

Mark Smith - Sunday July 5

A filly by super sire Frankel made the early running when Round 2 of the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale commenced on Sunday, when hammered down to Satomi Oka Bloodstock, on behalf of a Japanese client, for $500,000.

Frankel filly told to Japanese interests for $500,000

Consigned by Yulong, the chestnut filly is the first foal of the unraced Shamardal (USA) mare Lake Hamana (GB) who was purchased out of the Godolphin draft for 210,000 guineas by Sheamus Mills Bloodstock / Yulong Investments at the tattersalls July Sale in 2016.

A three-quarter sister to the dual Listed winner Sixth Sense (Shamardal), Lake Hamana’s pedigree page was given a huge boost when her half-sister Sobetsu (Dubawi) claimed the Group 1 Prix Saint Alary in 2017.
