One to Watch – Ballarat

Tara Madgwick - Sunday June 28

This two year-old I Am Invincible colt had plenty of excuses at his first two starts, but joined the dots for an impressive win at Ballarat on Sunday to become the 20th juvenile winner for his sire this season.

Efflorescence wins at Ballarat - image Pat Scala / Racing Photos

The Anthony Freedman trained Efflorescence enjoyed the synthetic track and step up to 1400 metres, controlling the race throughout and racing clear for an easy two and a half length win as favourite.

A $510,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Phoenix Thoroughbreds from the Rosemont Stud draft, he carries the same colours as I Am Invincible’s dual Group I winner Loving Gaby.

Efflorescence was bred by Saconi Thoroughbreds and partners at Longwood Thoroughbred Farm and is the second winner from Group II winner Oasis Bloom.

Longwood Thoroughbred Farm will offer the weanling filly from Oasis Bloom by Sebring as Lot 610 at the Inglis Great Southern Sale.

Efflorescence is the 20th 2YO winner of the season for champion sire I Am Invincible, who stands at Yarraman Park at a fee of $209,000 this spring.
