Pierro Son Bellevue Hill to Stand at Aquis

Media Release - Monday June 22

With the popularity of Group I All Aged Stakes winner Pierata, who will stand his first season at Aquis Hunter Valley, exceeding expectations, Aquis have made the decision to stand another son of Pierro in the electrifying homebred-colt Bellevue Hill, the only Group-winning juvenile son of his sire.

“We are extremely excited to be able to stand Bellevue Hill this season, our second son of Champion Sire in waiting Pierro, who will compliment Pierata and give breeders a wonderful opportunity to access a son of Pierro at a very affordable fee,” stated Aquis CEO Tony “Tubba” Williams.

Bellevue Hill

Aquis are delighted that Rifa Mustang, Mystery Downs, Belsin Thoroughbreds, Raffles, David Rothwell, Will Manning, G1G Racing and Kate Waterhouse, who all raced Bellevue Hill are remaining in the ownership group for the next stage of his career and will support him as a stallion, giving him the best opportunity possible at stud.

Set to stand alongside Pierata in the Hunter Valley, Bellevue Hill was an exciting juvenile, winning by over five lengths on debut in the Black Opal Preview at Canberra in 57.15 for the 1000m, before finishing a half-length second to Yes Yes Yes in the record-breaking Gr.2 Todman Stakes after doing all the work up front and only being run down in the shadows of the post, leaving a high class group of juveniles in their wake.

In the process, Bellevue Hill achieved a juvenile Timeform Rating of 116, a mark equal or better than the likes of what Bivouac, Cosmic Force, Yes Yes Yes, Trapeze Artist, The Autumn Sun and Astern also achieved as two-year-olds.

A son of Champion First and Second Season Sire Pierro, whose 23 stakes winners include six Group 1 winners highlighted by Pierata, Shadow Hero and Regal Power, Bellevue Hill is out of the winning 1000m track record holder Bellevue Girl, a full-sister to Exceed And Excel’s Group 3 winner Sugar Babe from the family of dual Group 2 winner On Type.

“Bellevue Hill exudes quality, scintillating speed and is from a fast, tough, colonial two-year-old group-winning family, having the presence of breed-shaping sires Zabeel, Danehill, Star Kingdom and Showdown in his pedigree.”

Being a son of Pierro from a Danehill line mare and a physical that takes the eye, Bellevue Hill will command respect when inspected and offer value to all with his undoubted attributes.

Bellevue Hill will stand at Aquis Hunter Valley, NSW at a fee of $11,000 (inc. GST)

Aquis will be making a limited number of breeding rights available.
