Eighth Winner for Super One

Newgate Farm’s first season stallion Super One has been on a winning run of late with four winners in the first few weeks of June, the latest coming when the Prime Thoroughbred colour-bearer Miss Divine Em led at every call in a maiden over 1002 metres at Donald on Saturday.

Ridden by Christine Puls, the Patrick Payne-trained filly was making her second start after an even fourth at Moe on May 15. She looked to be in some Super One has been firing off a volley of winners of latetrouble when tackled by the Pride Of Dubai gelding Diesel 'n' Dustbut she fought him off to win by a long-head with the Star Witness gelding Early Plea one and a quarter length back in third.

A $42,500 purchase by Prime Thoroughbreds out of the Newgate Farm draft at the 2018 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, Miss Divine Em is the third winner from as many to race out of the Brisbane winning Statue Of Liberty (USA) mare Manhatten Angel who hails from the family of WS Cox Plate place-getter Northern Drake.

Miss Divine Em becomes the eighth first crop winner for Newgate Farm’s I Am Invincible stallion Super One who will stand at a fee of $11,000 in 2020.
