Crazy Train Makes it Four for Bull Point

Mark Smith - Saturday June 20

Very few are better at sniffing out a bargain than Darby Racing who look to have another lively prospect in the Bull Point filly Crazy Train who made a winning debut over 900 metres at Newcastle on Saturday.

Purchased for just $3,000 from the Cressfield draft at the 2019 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale, the David Pfieffer-trained filly charged home from second last Crazy Train a bargain basement $3,000 Scone yearling purchase on the turn under Alysha Collett to defeat the German-bred Soldier Hollow gelding Apex (GER) by half a length with the favoured Rubick gelding Light And Dark a nose back in third.

Crazy Train is the first foal of the unraced Henney Hughes mare Crazy Idea who hails from the family of Golden Slipper winner Belle du Jour.

Crazy Idea has been a regular visitor to Bull Point visiting him in his first four seasons although she has missed in the past two.

Her yearling sister to Crazy Train failed to make her $7,000 reserve at the  2019 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale.

Crazy Train becomes the fourth winner from the first crop of Kingstar Farm’s Fastnet Rock stallion Bull Point.
