Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Tara Madgwick - Friday June 19

There were five juvenile heats at the Rosehill trials on Friday morning with some interesting results including a quinella for two expensive I Am Invincible colts that cleared six lengths away from their rivals to fight out the finish.

With Readapt setting a brisk pace out front it was left to Wild Wind to run him down which he did in good style, before being joined by Rubamos over the final furlong with both colts given a good hit out to the line.

A $600,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Hawkes Racing from the Newgate Farm draft , Wild Wind comes with a big pedigree being a three-quarter brother-in-blood to stakes-winner Sangria.

He is from blue-blooded Hussonet (USA) mare Your Life Style, a three-quarter sister to the dam of multiple Group I winner Shoals and half-sister to Group III winner Precious Lorraine and Lucky Raquie.

Wild Wind as a yearling

Your Life Style is a grand-daughter of blue hen Shantha’s Choice, the dam of Redoute’s Choice, so Wild Wind will certainly have all the pedigree boxes ticked for a future stallion prospect if he can earn Black Type on the track.
