Deep Impact Son for Chatswood Stud

Media Release - Thursday June 11

Al Ain (Jpn), the dual Group I Winning Record Breaker by Deep Impact out of Champion Sprinter/Breeders Cup Winner Dubai Majesty will shuttle to Chatswood Stud in Victoria this season.

Al Ain earned in excess of A$7 Million over a twenty start career which began as an undefeated 2YO. A stellar 3YO campaign followed, winning the Gr. 3 Mainichi Hai, previously won by King Kamehameha.

Al Alain

Two weeks later was his debut Gr. 1 outing where emulated his sire by winning the Japanese 2000 Guineas (Satsuki Sho). He did so in track record time of 1:57.8 seconds, 1.4 seconds faster than Deep Impact’s time in the same race.

Al Ain’s blistering time over the 2000m would have also set a track record for every single racetrack in Australia. After being hampered several times he showed immense grit to defeat the strongest field ever assembled for Satsuki Sho, comprising of 11 previous Stakes Winners and 4 subsequent Gr. 1 Winners. The field included Win Bright, Rey De Oro, Suave Richard, Champion 2YO Satono Ares, Persian Knight etc.

Al Ain continually raced against the best and the joy of racing in Japan means we got to see how good he really was. He soundly raced on until a 5YO and also won the Gr. 1 Osaka Hai, defeating 7 previous Group 1 Winners. Al Ain is a walking testament to his pedigree, combing the stamina of Champion Sire Deep Impact with the speed of Champion Sprinter Dubai Majesty.

Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) has sired 46 Group 1 Winners including Group 1 producer Real Impact and in Australia, Deep Impact has sired 25 runners for 3 Group 1 Winners.

Northern Farm's Katsumi Yoshida is excited about Al Ain's future:

"Al Ain is a stunning individual.

Though he was foaled in May, his appearance was very mature from the time he was foaled and he was one of the best foals within the farm.
He was sold to a syndication group when he was a yearling at a price of A$1.4 Million, but was immediately sold out, which tells how attractive he was.

Al Ain’s performance was at a high level for a long time of his racing career and he also has a strong mentality to perform well under any circumstance.
He was mainly racing at 1,600m to 2,000m, but the amount of speed he had suggests he could have also showed a high performance at a shorter distance race.

I am very confident that his progeny will fit well with the races in Australia, and I look forward to seeing his foals in Australia soon"- Katsumi Yoshida.

Chatswood has always had faith in the Sunday Silence sire-line, standing three sons of him between 1999 and 2006. Just like previous Chatswood shuttler Invincible Spirit, they all sired Group 1 Winners from their Australian crops:

Genuine: Pompeii Ruler - VRC Australian Cup
Bubble Gum Fellow: Rockabubble - NZ Breeders' Stakes
Tayasu Tsuyoshi: Hollow Bullet - VRC Oaks.

Australia caught another glimpse of the quality of Japan's breeding and racing in 2019, with Lys Gracieux's Cox Plate victory and Tagaloa winning the Blue Diamond.

Al Ain’s dam Dubai Majesty (Essence Of Dubai) was crowned America’s Champion Female Sprinter in 2010. She won the 1200m Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint and two days later was sold to Northern Farm’s Katsumi Yoshida for $1.1 Million. Dubai Majesty provides Australian breeders with the Pulpit / A.P Indy bloodlines as well as influential broodmare sire His Majesty.

Al Ain has naturally been well supported in his first season at Stud in Japan with very good fertility and for Australian breeders, he is free of Danzig. He had a high cruising speed, an intense will to win and relished fast tracks (turf).

Al Alain stands at a fee of $12,100

Al Ain– An imposing dual Group 1 Winner by a Champion Group 1 Winner, out of a Champion Group 1 Winner.

Due to the late announcement, Shareholders have agreed to stand Al Ain at a competitive fee of $12,100 inc GST.
