Blueblood Snitzel 2YO Salutes for Godolphin

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday June 10

Godolphin don’t send many mares to Arrowfield’s champion sire Snitzel, but they did send blue-blooded Brilliance and she delivered a debut juvenile winner from the mating at Sale on Wednesday.

Trained by James Cummings, two year-old gelding Tolkowsky did enough at the finish to snatch a narrow win in the 1105m maiden.

Tolkowsky is the third winner from three to race from unraced Brilliance, a half-sister by Street Cry (IRE) to multiple Group I winners and sires Helmet and Epaulette as well as Group winners Pearls and Bullbars.

Brilliance has a yearling filly to follow by Brazen Beau and weanling filly by Astern.

Tolkowsky is the 23rd two year-old winner this season for Snitzel, who stands this spring at a fee of $165,000.
