First Winner for Haunui Farm Shuttler Belardo

Media Release - Monday June 8

Haunui Farm stallion BELARDO (IRE) (Lope De Vega) landed his first winner overnight with filly GOLDEN MELODY (IRE) proving far too good for her opposition at Haydock.

Coming out of the Newmarket yard of William Haggas, GOLDEN MELODY was on debut in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes (6f).

She jumped with them and settled nicely just behind the speed.  Once into the clear, jockey James Doyle posed the question and the filly responded well putting two-and-a-quarter lengths on her rivals with relative ease.

A Champion 2YO himself and G1 winner to a mile, BELARDO is set to return to Haunui Farm in 2020 for his fourth season standing at a fee of $10,000 + GST.

With racing just getting back underway in England and Ireland, BELARDO has a number of runners set to line up in the coming weeks that we will be following with plenty of interest.
