Extraordinary Times Create Extraordinary Opportunity

When a major farm decides to discount well credentialed young sires by 50%, as a budget conscious owner breeder, you’d be crazy not to investigate further.

Newgate Farm are doing just that at present offering a 50% discount on the first 50 bookings to Wandjina and Dissident from their advertised fees of $11,000 inc GST.

A million dollar yearling himself and a Group I winner by champion sire Snitzel, Wandjina ticks a lot of boxes and with the arrival of his top class colt Mamaragan has shown he can get a seriously good horse.

Brilliant winner of the Group II ATC Skyline Stakes on debut, Mamaragan then placed in both the Group I ATC Golden Slipper and ATC Sires Produce Stakes stamping himself as one of the best juvenile colts in training.

He has already returned to the Randwick stables of John Thompson with the Group I ATC Golden Rose (1400m) his first big target for the spring.

Wandjina colt Mamargan is aiming towards the G1 Golden Rose in the spring.

Also dreaming of spring success are the connections of another two year-old Wandjina colt in Wolf Moon, who bolted in on debut at the Sunshine Coast for the same owner, trainer and jockey as Group I star Alligator Blood.

Wolf Moon has big shoes to fill, but there is undeniable optimism in the camp!

Like Wandjina, Dissident also has a couple of serious irons in the fire for spring in exciting two year-old filly Aidensfield and impressive debut juvenile winner Acrophobia.

Dissident filly Aidensfield has won at Caulfield and Sandown at her only starts.

Trained out of Lindsay Park, Aidensfield has won easily at Caulfield and Sandown at her only starts, while the John O’Shea trained Acrophobia looked good in scoring at Warwick Farm aft his first start last month.

An Australian Horse of the Year by Sebring, Dissident has sired over 30 winners of some $2million this season including stakes-winner Pancho, Group I place-getter Foxborough and Group III placed Reformist, not to mention metro winners Bigboyroy, Yitai Synergy, Ingear, Ellis Park and Disruptor.

Priced as they are this spring, Wandjina and Dissident offer an extraordinary opportunity for owner breeders to send their mares to an elite Hunter Valley farm to be covered by genuine Group I horses with a proven record for producing winners.

For $5,500, that’s extraordinary bang for your buck!
