South Island Yearling Sale Live on Gavelhouse Plus

New Zealand Bloodstock’s annual South Island Sale of yearlings is now live and available to view on NZB’s new online subsidiary platform, Gavelhouse Plus.

Bidding on the first-ever sale of its kind launched today and will run for an 11 day period, with the first lot closing on Sunday 7 June at 5pm (NZT).

It is no secret that Southern-born and raised thoroughbreds continuously bring their immense staying power to the table and the quality 65-lot catalogue packs a punch with close relatives to top-class racehorses and progeny of black-type performers.

A strong contingent of 27 proven and emerging sires are represented, as well as a close relation to New Zealand’s darling of the turf Melody Belle (NZ) (Commands) in Lot 36, a colt by Highly Recommended out of Vannista Belle (NZ) (Van Nistelrooy).Vendors have supplied extensive photos and video footage to give prospective buyers the best possible information about each lot on offer. View the 65-lot yearling catalogue online here.

Buyers will need to register on Gavelhouse Plus in advance, prior to the closure of selling and provide two credit references to gain bidding approval for the Sale.

All unbroken yearlings offered through the 2020 South Island Sale on Gavelhouse Plus are eligible for the Karaka Million Series featuring two $1 million races – the Karaka Million 2YO (1200m) and the Karaka Million 3YO Classic (1600m), in addition to the $100,000 CollinsonForex Karaka Cup

(2200m), which graduates can contest for the duration of their career.

All horses have been inspected by NZB Agents who are available to assist buyers with enquiries.
