100 Winners for Star Witness

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 27

For the third year in a row Widden Stud’s Star Witness has hit the milestone of 100 winners in a season.

Four year-old gelding False Statement brought up the milestone when saluting at Belmont on Wednesday over 1000 metres.

Trained by Tiarna Robertson, he was first up from a spell and took his overall record to four wins from 11 starts with more than $60,000 in prizemoney.

Star Witness stands at a fee of $22,000

Star Witness covered his biggest book of mares in 2016 and this large crop of rising three year-olds will no doubt go a long way to keeping his name in lights.

Star Witness had a dozen yearlings average $152,083 at Magic Millions this year and he stands this spring at the value fee of $22,000.
