Snitzel's Immortal Love Goes Two for Two

Mark Smith - Saturday May 23

An impressive winner over 11000 metres at Echuca on May 4 when on debut, United Syndications Snitzel gelding Immortal Love took the step up to metropolitan class in his stride to keep his record perfect with a three and a half length romp over 1400 metres at Flemington on Saturday.

Ridden by Craig Newitt for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr, Immortal love took the lead shortly after turning for home and from then on it was a matter of how far.

The VOBIS Sires Showdown winner Khoekhoe (Turffontein) could not get any closer than three and a half lengths after having every chance with Indictment (Street Boss) a length back in third.

Mick Price said that Immortal Love was bred to appreciate the heavy track.

“By Snitzel out of a Bel Esprit mare, a Peter Creighton homebred and the best thing Peter did was to geld him,” Price said.

“He wasn’t going to be any good as a colt this horse.

“I suppose that today is one of those days that if they handle it (the heavy track) they will win like that and if they don’t they will be out the back.”

Immortal Love’s dam Loveyamadly was purchased by Peter Creighton’s United Syndications for $60,000 out of the Yallambee Stud draft at the 2010 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

Winner of the Listed Abel Stakes and a Group III runner-up, Loveyamadly went on to win six and place in three of her 13 starts with earnings of $319,338.

United chose to breed from Loveyamadly whose first foal Classic Gaming (Medaglia D'Oro) was sold for $200,000 at the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale. He has won two and placed in four of his nine starts to date.

United kept the next two foals of Loveyamadly a filly and a colt by Snitzel.

The filly named Bella Amore who broke her maiden at Sandown in December.

Loveyamadly has a yearling colt by Not A Single Doubt that was purchased by Nat McCall Racing for just $20,000 at the 2019 Inglis September Online Sale.

After foaling a Capitalist filly last spring, Loveyamadly was covered by Rubick.
