First Season Favourites –Trapeze Artist

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 20

The recent Inglis Chairman’s Sale for elite broodmares provided an enticing sample of what’s to come in terms of quality mares in foal to last season’s vintage offering of first crop sires headed by the big three – Trapeze Artist, Justify and The Autumn Sun.

Advertised at $88,000 last year, Trapeze Artist was the most expensive of the trio and also the most popular covering 180 mares, his fee set marginally above The Autumn Sun ($77,000) and Justify (USA), whose fee was on application.

Trapeze Artist stands at $77,000 in 2020

The first mare offered in foal to Trapeze Artist was Samara Dancer, who sold for $750,000 at Inglis Chairman’s Sale and there will be more to follow at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
