Trained by Matthew Dunn, five year-old Snitz started his career with a debut win as a two year-old at Grafton and has been working through his grades ever since.

Second up from a spell and bringing a three race winning streak into the Takeover Target, Snitz produced a career best performance to win by half a length.

“He’s done a good job. He just gets better and better all the time,” said Matthew Dunn.

“I honestly didn’t expect him to get to this level ever, let alone this preparation.

“Maybe we take him home and look at a Stradbroke on that performance.”

Snitz took his overall record to nine wins and seven placings from 25 starts with prizemoney in excess of $490,000.

A $140,000 Magic Millions 2YO’s in Training purchase for Jim Kennedy from the Victorian Bloodstock Mornington draft, Snitz was a successful pinhook having been bought for $75,000 at the VOBIS Gold Yearling Sale from the Basinghall Farm draft.

Champion sire Snitzel is having another stellar seasonSnitz is the best of seven winners from Group II winning Perugino (USA) mare Tickly My and is a half-brother to the dam of Group II winner I’ll Have a Bit.

Tickle My is now retired from stud duties, but has a yearling filly by Toronado (IRE) and a weanling colt by Alpine Eagle.

Snitz is the 101st stakes-winner for Arrowfield Stud’s champion sire Snitzel and is his 15th Australian stakes-winner this season.

He is currently leading the Australian General sires list by earnings and stakes-winners and stands this spring at a fee of $165,000.

Snitzel is also in front on the two year-old sires list where he leads by earnings and winners (20).
