Dissident Filly Wins Murrumbidgee Guineas

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 1

Third in the Group I ATC Flight Stakes last spring behind Funstar and Probabeel, Dissident filly Foxborough has always shown a touch of class and she proved a class above her rivals in the $72,250 Murrumbidgee Guineas (1600m) at the Wagga Cup meeting on Friday.

The John Sargent trained filly made light of the heavy ground to open up and win by five and a half lengths running away.

Foxborough has the overall record of two wins and six placings from 14 starts woth prizemoney topping $180,000.

Passed in and retained to race by her breeder Geoff Grimish, Foxborough is the best of three winners from stakes-placed import Sense of Pride (Can).

She is one of 28 winners this season for Newgate Farm's Dissident, whose progeny have won over $1.6 million in prizemoney and are headed by stakes-winner Pancho.
