Stakes Contenders Highlight Magic Millions Cornerstone Entries

Stakes racing in Adelaide on Saturday has the potential to put the spotlight on a several key lots being offered at the Magic Millions online Cornerstone Stud Reduction with bidding now underway and scheduled to conclude on May 5.

Lot 21 is Abazan, a beautifully related Anabaa (USA) mare, who is the dam of talented four year-old Dreamed.

Trained by Ryan Balfour, Dreamed was second in last year’s Group III SAJC Auraria Stakes and runs on Saturday in the Group II SAJC Queen of the South Stakes.

Unraced Abazan is in foal to Rich Enuff and comes from a first class family that has produced Champion 3YO Filly Samantha Miss and Group I winner Cronus, with the current star of the family being Miss Fabulass, who was a close second in the Group I ATC Coolmore Classic.

Lot 49 is Silent Stash, a metro winning half-sister to Group II placed Looks Like the Cat, who comes from the family of this season’s progressive three year-old filly Silent Sovereign, who runs in the Group I SAJC Australasian Oaks.

A last start winner of the Group III SAJC Schweppervescence Stakes, the Tony and Calvin McEvoy trained Silent Sovereign is a half-sister to stakes-winner Silent Command from Group III winner Silent Surround.

Silent Stash is in foal to Sir Prancealot (IRE).

Lot 13 is a weanling filly by promising first crop sire Press Statement from the well bred mare Nova Rocha, a half-sister to promising three year-old Pierro filly Rocha Clock, trained in Sydney by John O’Shea.

Rocha Clock has won three of five starts showing stakes potential and lines up this Saturday at Randwick for her sixth start with Hugh Bowman to ride.

This is also the family of recent Group I ATC Australian Derby winner Quick Thinker and past Group I winners Blackfriars and Larrocha, who is the third dam of this filly. Interestingly, this filly is bred on the highly successful Fastnet Rock x Galileo nick (3 x 3)  that has produced 21 stakes-winners woldwide, eight of them Group I winners.
